O’s Notes: Orquestra Filarmonica is a nonprofit, Brazilian Philharmonic Orchestra from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. They have been performing since 2008 and serve as a breeding ground for local musicians as well as entertainment for a broad audience. The mission is to develop and appreciation, awareness and education of classical music. The music is not the samba or bossa nova that we’ve typically associated with Brazil, but a true classical expression. The band is dynamic and powerful while being delicate and peaceful where required. The overall effect draws the live audience enthusiastically into the music!
