O’s Notes: Drummer Tom Cohen takes us on a spirited, swinging set on“Joyride. Benito Gonzalez (p) and Tim Ries (sax) join him with bass duty split between Kris Funn and Mike Boone. The program is a good mix of standards with original interludes by Cohen. There are many great songs including “Black Nile”, “What Will We Tell Our Children”, “On Green Dolphin Street” and “Dolphin Dance” to name a few. The music lives up to its title!
