O’s Notes: This is a very unusual transformation of nursery rhymes into jazz masterpieces. We initially thought it was a joke but were immediately engaged. It helps that the musicians are all first call including Carmen McRae (v), Clare Fisher (p), Freddie Hubbard (t) and Luis Conte (perc). Leader Jon Crosse plays all brass and flute. The seventeen songs are both vocals and instrumentals. If you want to engage the tots and jazz lovers simultaneously, this is the ticket! In fact, we found it pleasing without the kids.
