O’s Notes: Laszlo plays piano, writes and arranges most of the music on Life in Real Time, a daunting effort. He invites some world-class talent to join him and allows them to stretch out a bit as well. Don Braden (sax), Yoron Israel (d) and John Lockwood (b) stand out in the sextet. We liked their take on “Lullaby of Birdland” and “Motherless Child” which fit right in with Gardony’s originals. There are eight selections ranging from almost 6 minutes to over 12 minutes allowing ample time for well-developed solos. The musicians take advantage with heart-felt expressions that art true artistic works.
