O’s Notes: This is a swinging trio led by pianist and composer Yoko Miwa. Greg Loughman (b) and Scott Goulding (d) join her for a live set at Scullers in Boston October 26, 2010. We enjoyed the Miwa’s playful spirit on the blues laced “Mr. B.G.” featuring strong solos by Loughman as well as “Mox Nix”. There are a few ballads but it is the upbeat blues that drive this set.
