O’s Notes: This live recording was captured during a weeklong engagement at New York City’s famous Blue Note earlier this year. Much of the music is new originals, enough overall for 2 CDs! The accompaniment is a couple of Cuba’s best: Horacio ‘El Negro’ Hernandez (d) and Charles Flores (b). There is a sense of strong energy between the musicians that allow each of them to stretch out while supporting each other. The recording quality is excellent.
