O’s Notes: Ugetsu is a band of Canadian musicians led by Jon Bentley and Bernie Arai. Typically they play tributes to legendary bands like Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. But for this recording they focused on originals from the band members. The results are very god. The music is swinging and vibrant. This is proof that there is a lot of jazz talent lurking North of the boarder!
