O’s Notes: Veteran trumpeter and bandleader Joe Battaglia has performed with his New York Big Band for many years. This recording is A Tribute to Frank Sinatra. Karen Botero adds vocals on several selections notably “Sinatra” that also includes a fine solo by Battaglia. The instrumentals are crisp and entertaining as expected with the strong ensemble featuring Lou Caputo (sax), Bobby Purcelli (sax) and Mike Campenni (d). Battaglia seems to defy age with another swinging set that takes him to our living legends category.
