O’s Notes: This session was recorded live in Fort Lauderdale, FL during January of 1995. Howard (g) teamed up with Dan Barrett (tb), Chuck Wilson (cl, Sax), Frank Tate (b) and Jackie Wilson (d) to perform a dozen jazz classics. The songs are familiar and the harmony is excellent. The combination of guitar and brass on the melodies was flawless. Guest vocalist Terrie Richards, Howard’s wife, softens the mood on three numbers most notably, “It’s Now or Never”.
