O’s Notes: This one is true to its title, Live & Swinging. Pete (d) is joined by Roy Williams (tb), Alan Barnes (sax, cl), Wolfgang Dalheimer (p) and Harvey Weston (b). They play ten classic jazz selections including an “Ellington Sacred Concert Medley” that shines. York also sing on a couple of songs, notably “All God’s Chillun’ Got Rhythm” and “Nothing From Nothing”. The mood is upbeat and it is clear that the musicians all enjoy playing.Live & Swinging
