O’s Notes: San Francisco String Trio is a left coast-based trio featuring violinist Mads Tolling, guitarist Mimi Fox and Jeff Denison on bass and vocals. They tackle the works of Lennon & McCartney and “Within You Without You” by George Harrison. This is a relaxed, swinging approach to classic pop tunes presenting them in a fresh light. We enjoyed their takes on “Fixing A Hole” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” best in the 12-song set.
