O’s Notes: Kristin plays the fiddle, swinging in bluegrass fashion with a bow. He wrote most of the music for the session, a blend of pace, rhythm and sentiment. The quartet includes excellent work on guitar from Jacob Fisher. Monty Alexander (p) is the fifth musician and he blends with the band as if they’ve played together for years. Caterina Zapponi adds soft, seductive vocals on “Estate”. Overall, the music is refreshing and cool.
