O’s Notes: Pianist Jeremy Manasia teams up with Barack Mori on bass, drummer Charles Ruggeiro and featured guitarist Peter Bernstein for Metamorphosis, his latest release. These are like-minded, veteran jazz musicians that have a great sense of swing. They have performed together (all or in parts) on numerous occasions over the last 30 years and their familiarity shows! Bernstein does a fabulous job handling many of the melodies with a mature grace that made them sing. Manasia stands out on “Wheatleigh Hall” and the last three selections (all original tunes) most notably “Over Easy”.
