O’s Notes: Chuck Bernstein and his trio are back with yet another set of Monk’s works including “Round Midnight”, “Blue Monk” and “Straight No Chaser”. This time the trio has expanded a bit to include trombonist-pianist Max Perkoff and Roswell Rudd on Trombone. Their interpretations freshen Monk’s work without diminishing the character putting it among the good jazz on the shelves!
