O’s Notes: Carlos (s) puts a Latin bent on classic bop tunes, ballads and a few originals. The new arrangements work well with nice work on trumpet from Derick Gardner and steady beats from the rhythm section anchored by Shingo Okudaira (d). Garnett and pianist Carlton Holmes keep it swinging with the clave feeling.
