O’s Notes: Wayne (t) leads a powerful brassy large ensemble through eighteen crisp Holiday classics. The After Hours Band is formidable playing with warmth and precision. Tierney Sutton joins them singing two songs notably a racy version of “Let It Snow”. Deb Wagner (t) also sings on “Santa Baby” but the magic of this CD is the instrumentals. We enjoyed the rich brassy arrangements of “The Christmas Song”, the swinging “O Christmas Tree” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” over “Killer Joe” rhythms.
