O’s Notes: These nine new compositions are exhilarating. There is nice use of strings to create emotion with a variety of moods. The titles are indicative of the feelings; “Daybreak”, “Baroque Steps” and “Paradise Spring” are a few of our favorites. It is dynamic and inviting for repeated listening, to relax, to be stimulated and to enjoy. This is one of the year’s best modern jazz albums!
