O’s Notes: Ricardo (g) and Luiz (p) are joined by special guest Robertinho Silva (percussion) for a live concert in Rio during 2002. This was a part of the Grand Encounters Series celebrating the music of the legendary Milton Nascimento. All three musicians played together as a part of Milton’s band and hence their interpretations of his music are on point and as rich as the originals. Our favorites were “Travessia (Bridges)”, “Cravo e Canela” (Cinnamon and Clove) and the syncopated “Saídas e Bandeiras” (Exits and Flags).
