O’s Notes: Pianist David Berkman goes solo as he Plays Music by John Coltrane And Pete Seeger. It’s rather unusual for Coltrane to be captured with solo piano but Berkman does a fine job on tunes like “Moments Notice” and “Equinox”. The contrast is Pete Seeger’s music of protest that are introspective, on “The Bells of Rhymney”, parts 1 & 2. He also does a good job jazzing “You Don’t Know What Love Is” and “We Shall Overcome”.
