O’s Notes: Kenny Burrell is a masterful guitarist and this ’best of’ collection captures him displaying all of his talent on both rhythms and melodies. Burrell is always able to make his band sound better and unselfishly shared the stage with other soloists. The beneficiary is the listener! Some of the best tracks are “Boo-Lo” where Kenny is complemented by Jerome Richardson (fl); “All Day Long” with Hank Mobley (ts); and “Montono Blues” with Coleman Hawkins (ts).
