O’s Notes: The mood is happy and the spirits are bright on this release from sax player, Don Harrison. He forms a quintet with Christian Scott (t), Vicente Archer (b), John Lamkin (d) and Eric Reed who does an excellent job on piano. The music is in motion starting with the opener, “Playa Haters” through the finalé, “Keep the Faith”. He pays homage to jazz masters, Rollins, Dizzy and Desmond with cool covers on “Oleo”, “A Night In Tunisia” and “Take Five”. It is a balanced program of modern jazz that has appeal to a broad audience.
