O’s Notes: Roger (p) is a classical musician who discovered jazz in is search for his own signature. He always loved the bossa nova beats he heard from Getz. To get that feel he employed David Finck (b) and Paulo Braga (d), both seasoned Brazilians who backed the likes of Nascimento, Jobim, Lins and D’Rivera. Richard Rogers wrote all the tunes and Davidson’s arrangements have a Brazilian flair that gives them new character. The have a relaxed quenching character perfect for a slow day.
