O’s Notes: Once again polished jazz saxophonist Eric Alexander hits the scene with a stellar performance. Pianist Harold Mabern does a heck of a job keeping things swinging through out the set especially on songs like “Blues For Mo” along with bassist Bob Crenshaw. Eric gets his groove on for “T-Bone Steak” and cooks on “Frenzy” which also includes a tasteful drum solo by Joe Farnsworth. Joe also contributes “Jennie’s Dance” to the set, a mid-tempo, funky tune. They relax on the ballad “Everything Happens To Me” but it is the hot tunes that make this a winner.
