O’s Notes: Perry Beekman sings and plays guitar leading a trio with Peter Tomlinson (p) and Lou Pappas (b). They celebrate the songs of Cole Porter. It is hard to argue with the material and the team plays it well though the soundstage is a little narrow. We prefer the instrumentals highlighted by Beekman’s fleeting fretwork. But all of the music swings gracefully.
