O’s Notes: Mostly light Latin jazz cuts, this collection is really soothing. There are vocals from Brazil 66 (Menina Flor) and Jackie & Roy, cool guitar and organ from Wes Montgomery & Jimmy Smith, spicy songs featuring Cal Tjader (Cuchy Frito Man) and some Brazilian mastery from Astrud Gilberto. These fifteen songs are a good representation of the wealth of music from Verve’s catalog and an inspiration to young musicians and listeners as well.
