O’s Notes: Ted gets a big fat sound from his tenor sax on these eight originals. He keeps good company with either Wynton Marsalis or Marcus Printup on trumpet, Ben Allison (b), Matt Wilson (d) and Frank Kimbrough on piano. The musicians gel around new themes that excite us on tunes like “Bells of Brescia”, “Point of Arrival”, “The Shooting Star” and the title track. Ted makes a statement here and gives us a lot to look forward to.
