O’s Notes: Canadian reedman Rob Mosher relocated to New York several years ago and assembled Storytime, a ten piece ensemble with some of the city’s best musicians. The Tortoise is their debut recording. It consists of thirteen well-developed original compositions. They are grand pieces (“Sleepless Lullaby”) that beg for a symphonic setting for full appreciation. Among the best of the thirteen are “The Sands of Maundune” and “1920’s Car Chase”.
