O’s Notes: The band has a tight precision like an automatic Swiss watch. Chirillo’s guitar playing is equally potent. The music includes jazzy arrangements of “If I Only Had A Brain”, “When Lights Are Low” and “Fancifree”, an original. James remains a student of the instrument, composition and arranging but Sultry Serenade is more an indication of a polished master.
