O’s Notes: The veteran clarinetist Ken Peplowski’s latest endeavor focuses on peaceful passages that are clearly representative that spring is here. And what a wonderful time it is with young birds chirping and the fragrances of fresh buds. He gets a relaxed start on “All I Need Is The Girl” evolving to the pleasurable sway of “Estate”. The big band format surfaces the power of brass along with all of the subtleties of he reeds mirroring the gentle forces of nature. The talent is in abundance and Ken does a fine job balancing the team.
