O’s Notes: There are many varieties of swinging jazz and Putumayo has done a great job of presenting a global collection on this CD. They start with two African bands before Oscar Peterson and Clark Terry (singing) “Mumbles”, a boogie-woogie tune. There’s also big band 1920’s style swing, gypsy, Hawaiian, polka, vamp with vocals and the New Orleans Jazz Vipers playing “Blue Drag”. Take the trip and enjoy very good liner notes as well.
