O’s Notes: Swing Zing! is another collaboration from world-class guitarists Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo. We classified their Melody Magic as a cool set for guitar lovers. They step it up for this session with even broader appeal. The tunes are mostly classics and the delivery is excellent. A few special guests add spice starting with Audra Mariel’s vocals on “All The Things You Are”. Olli Soikkeli plays guitar on “Joseph Joseph” and Gene Bertoncini (g) steps in on “Whispering “. We also enjoyed the peacefulness of “Sleepy time Girl with Julian Lage complementing Vignola. Frank and Vinny are still on top of their game, making new memories and helping many reminisce.
