O’s Notes: The Tarmu Jazz Quartet is Adam Hutcherson (a-Sax), Sam Bevan (b), Cengiz Baykal (d) and leader, composer, vibraphonist Eldad Tarmu. The self-titled release is a program of contemporary Latin-infused jazz. Hutcherson and Tarmu share the melodies in a decent collection with few disappointments. “Self-Inflicted Wounds” and “Beneath the Gloss and Shine” are notable.
