O’s Notes: This recording is dedicated to Sidney Bechet, one of the first and finest recorded jazz soloists on clarinet. Bob Wilber was fortunate to be educated by Bechet early in his career and has been swinging ever since. Glenn Zottola comes from a family of trumpeters and he has the DNA, with rich tone and a powerful swinging approach. He joined The Bechet Legacy with Wilber in its original formation. The Birch Hall Concerts use the 1981-82 version of the band with Mark Shane (p), Mike Peters (g), Len Skeet (b) and Butch Miles (d). It is a legacy recording celebrating some of the best classic jazz on high-octane fuel!
