O’s Notes: This trio has performed long enough together that they follow each other’s intuition. They are able to migrate through difficult passages with ease and at the same time improvise freely while staying in sync. The addition of Irene Aeri on vocals is a worthy addition on two tracks. The musicians are Jean-Jacques Avenel (b), John Betch (d), and Steve on sax. Aside from the creative vibe, the dynamics are excellent with a wide range in soft and powerful sounds.
