O’s Notes: The vibraphone is a dynamic and melodic instrument that is wonderful in the hands of the right player. Mark Sherman is among the best on the business and he takes on a dozen classic bebop tunes in The L.A. Sessions. Bill Cunliffe (B3), John Chiodini (g) and Charles Ruggiero (d) join him. They really swing on tunes like “Whisper Not” making this an enjoyable set.
