O’s Notes: This is Ahmad Jamal at his best, dancing across the keys of the piano without breaking a sweat. It’s that level of poise and dexterity that places him among the best jazz pianists. The recordings were made in the 1950s. Ahmad has good company here with guitarist Ray Crawford, especially on “Love For Sale”, one of 21 excellent tunes in this collection. Bass duty was split between Eddie Calhoun and Israel Crosby. Plug this baby in and let your head bob to the beats! It’s pure pleasure.
