O’s Notes: The Odd Couple is Ron Kalina (harmonica) and Jim Self (tuba, fluba). But the band is a quintet with Larry Koonse (g), Tom Warrington (b) and Joe La Barbera (d). They swing through eleven tunes with a bouncy happy go lucky spirit. The title track rings a bell reminding us of Felix and Oscar. The harmonica gives the music a campfire feel, not a bad thing at all. We enjoyed the session especially “Stolen Moments” and “To Monica”.
