O’s Notes: Trumpeter Jeremy Pelt assembled this quintet back in 2007 for a recording. They have remained in tact and become a strong band and friends. Dwayne Burno plays bass with J.D. Allen (sax), Danny Grissett (p) and Gerald Cleaver on drums. The program is fresh with mostly Pelt originals. The music pops on “When the Time is Right” then soothes on “Pulse” and “In Love Again”. The chemistry continues to improve with this unit bringing fresh elements to the modern jazz set.
