O’s Notes: The Jones Factor is a talented Jazz Collective that was formed in 1986 by trombonist and bandleader John Fumasoli. Bassist Dave Anderson plays with soulful strides on “Pools” including a fine solo from Scott Wendholt (flugelhorn). They get spiritual on “When He Calls” with Anderson and Bill Harris (t-sax) trading melodies. We also enjoyed “Hall of Mirrors” featuring Chieli Minucci (g), the cool jazz vibe on “All That I Need”, and the fresh arrangement of “Summertime”. The Time Is Now is a can’t-miss!
