O’s Notes: Good music + good musicians = a very satisfying performance. This equation holds true for There Will Never Be Another You. Harry Edison is up front with his sweet sound and his uncanny ability to swing. He’s backed by drummer Torsten Zwingenberger and his band including Hendrick Meurkens on vibes. They play eight classic jazz pieces including Jobim’s “Wave”, “Cottontail” with a super solo from Torsten, “Centerpiece” and “In A Mellow Tone” with a cool solo from Meurkens. It’s a strong session recorded live in Berlin during 1986.
