O’s Notes: Composer and balladeer Jason Paul Curtis puts together a fresh set of Holiday cheer on“These Christmas Days. The music is performed by a quintet, Swinglab and the brass-laden large ensemble Swing Shift. Both configurations are on point with the big band being more powerful as anticipated. There are some sweet harmonies including with Isabella Curtis who makes her debut notably on “I Want Snow” and a lot to enjoy over the ten tracks. What a pleasure to experience new Christmas carols.
