O’s Notes: We popped in this CD of an unknown trio and it immediately caught our attention. We listened first and then picked up the cover to reveal that Aleks is an eleven-year-old prodigy! Forget his age, this cat can play and much more than simple beats, with no overdubs! His dad, pianist Vlad Girshevich composed 7 of 8 tunes; the last “Dithering” is a collective free improvisation. Bassist, producer David Arend is the catalyst for Tomorrow and certainly there should be many more successful days for the energetic, young Aleks.
