O’s Notes: The New England Jazz Collaborative is a non-profit, artist run, collective dedicated to promoting and producing fresh jazz. The music is engaging, vibrant, and easy to absorb. Tributaries opens with “Another Brighter Day” by Jeremy Cohen (perc), moving to the spirited conversation of Mayan Rubinstein’s (p) “Ol’ Liminal”. We also enjoyed the suspense of Darryl Harper’s (cl) “The Secret”, and wrapping up with a little calypso on “Green Turtle Strut” by Cohen.
