O’s Notes: Don plays piano and leads a trio with George Mraz (b) And Lewis Nash (d). They play ten upbeat songs; several written by Friedman along with six newly arranged standards. The music flows nicely from start to finish, nothing overpowering, just a solid performance. We like the racy tunes like “Blues in a Hurry” which really cooks and the cool bass line on “Flamands”, both originals.
