O’s Notes: Astor plays a bandoneon with lots of fanfare. He is considered one of Argentina’s premier musicians blending tango with other popular music forms while retaining its true essence. The music is in motion starting with a suite of four songs from the film Pulsación. You can easily visualize a tango performance. This is followed by four songs from the tango operita, Maria De Buenos Aires, another emotional roller coaster. The original sessions were recorded in August 1968 and they pack a wealth of excitement!
