O’s Notes: Saxophonist and composer Jim Stranahan produces a lively set for his latest release Migration to a Higher Ground. It includes some mambo, New Orleans style, blues and straight-ahead jazz. There is a large 11/12-piece ensemble performing five selections and a sextet performing four songs. It is an energy-packed, swinging set.
