O’s Notes: Pianist and composer Yvonne Rogers is a rising talent based on New York. Her solo, debut effort fills the stage on The Button Jar, a collection of fourteen original songs. The music is fully integrated but darts between genres. It is decidedly improvisational, sprinkled with occasional classical elements. “Exhale” is a fine example of the cerebral music in the jar. Rogers is very talented and we look to witness her evolution.
