O’s Notes: These eight tracks alternate between soothing sambas and upbeat swingers led by Holly’s fresh melodies on flute. They open with Cole Porter’s “Everything I Love” which includes some exquisite interplay between Hofmann and bassist Peter Washington. “Minor Miracle” is an original that has a funky backdrop as does “Tonk”. There are several Latin tracks with both Brazilian and Caribbean flavors most notably “Johnny Come Lately”. MikeWofford (p) and Victor Lewis (d) round out the quartet for this very good session.
