O’s Notes: This 2-Disc collection includes work from legends and contemporary jazz artists. Among the artists are Dizzy, Bird, Billie Holiday, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Sarah Vaughan and Miles as well as some of today’s players like Calvin Keys, N’Touch and Terri Lynn Carrington. Both sides of the Jazz Ruler(tm) are covered with excellent performances. This is a nice set to leave in the CD changer, especially Disc 1. The cause is also worthwhile, as 41% of the proceeds will go towards free mammograms for women in New York City.
