O’s Notes: Drummer, composer Peter Kogan lives and performs with Minnesota musicians performing both classic and original tunes. We’re coming to realize there is an abundance of jazz talent up there!“The Green Album“is Kogan’s third effort and it has lots of variety with a wealth of harmonized brass melodies. They cover jazz from the early 1920s to today’s Modern jazz in several configurations ranging from 5 to 8 members. There are strong performances from Jake Baldwin on trumpet, bassist Jeff Bailey, Pete Whitman (t-sax) and the leader keeping good time on drums.
